Neat to be recognized for your products this way. Of course leave it to the Navy (I did four years) to send you a picture of some guys arm taking a picture. LOL. LOL They sent me a dozen pics but I had to resize it to upload it so thats the only one I did.

Hey Bob that looks pretty cool they look like the ends could be glued together and made to look like one board. Even the wood grain lines up.

Probably will leave it as a 3 piece wall ensemble, I did cut it from the same contiguous board to maintain the grain match.

You got a great result with the corian. Did you use a router to cut out the inlay space for the corian - it appears you didn't cut all the way through.

I used the machine to cut out the recess for the inlay. I used the same exact image, but I removed the oval area with the scene and did a black fill then cut it out with the end mill at just slightly less than the thickness of the corian piece.
The corian does carve very nice, everything comes out super smooth. I did make the scan step .1 instead of the default .2

SHowing how PhotoVcarve works while cutting a baby picture for a friend. Sure would be nice if this site automatically down sized pics Picture from inside PhotoVcarve before making the nc code file to cut : www.dropbox.com/s/9ynvffrjzwbq0gz/breebabywood.bmpThe finished board looks just like the picture. Just a side note photoVcarve does a great job on pictures especially baby pics so if your wanting to make money with your machine think about doing the pics. The one above has caused 4 others to contact me about doing their baby and they want to pay the sooner the better for them they say.

Those look pretty cool, do you slow down the machine in the post processor ?. I take it the v carve does these at an angle like in the pic.

The software has settings for that but I don't change it because I only make shallow cuts for pics, that baby pic was cut at .052" you can do the same thing in I-picture but I think I get a better job with photoVcarve. Yes it cuts at a diagonal ad you can change the angle to anything you want. I cut these on the slow setting of the machine.

I've used ipicture a number of times to try baby pictures, I don't get enough contrast in mine to really see the picture at depths of around .125 - so I'm thinking that at a shallower depth I'd do even worse. I always use "Slow" and the 1/50 bit when I do it. I keep playing with the picture in photoshop but don't have a technique that gives me good results yet.

Rick if you follow that link it will show you what I saw before I cut the board and the cut is the same as the picture, I did not take a picture of the board but I asked the girl to take one and send it to me so I could post it here. If I'm not wrong I believe Artcam has a Vcarve module built in to it. They call it Photo V carve because you can make it do two passes in opposite directions so it makes a hatch pattern, I don't really care for that option on pic's maybe I'll run across a use for it one day but for now I get the detail I want from this.
P.S. There are some secret software settings you'll need if you go with this to get the best outcome.
