 Please can someone help me, I bought a car in machine a brand-new one about 3 weeks ago, I am still yet to carve anything. I keep getting error 21 electrical reset motor. I've been back to the store several times, they try and help I come home and it's the same thing. It's a six hour return trip to the store where I bought it from and to my home. They told me I have dirty Hydro, and to my house to get electrician. While I did art for many dollars spent which I knew when the first place my Hydro was good I took the machine over to the neighbors house and the same thing it runs for about maybe an hour or two hours slow speed and I get this error 21 message. Please help me someone out there I am at the end of my rope.

Return it.
If the next one has problems, then return it for a refund because if it is your power then there is nothing you can do.
Well you could buy a generator and run it from that.
It is still undecided if these Olivers have hardware/software problems or not.

He was clear that he had problems with the machine at both his and the neighbors home. I took the machine over to the neighbors house and the same thing it runs for about maybe an hour or two hours slow speed Either they both live in somewhere with truly crappy power, or the machine is bad. If the machine is bad it needs to go back. If the power is crappy he will not be able to run the machine except from a generator. |

I almost forgot this little tid bit but I went through several USB drives before I had one that did not stop the machine or just not work right from the start.
HMMM
Could this be were everyones problem is coming from?
Right now I use a 19 gig drive I got from radio shack and have had no errors.

Any USB drive formatted in FAT 32 should work.
You can use a memory card and reader as long as it fits the usb port and the card is FAT 32.
Would be nice if they switched to a memory card slot like Makerbot and printers do.
A gig card holds a lot of files.
Makes me wonder how much of the system can be accessed through the USB slot. Can it be run from a laptop?
Wish I had mad skillz, or knew someone that does.

My machine would not run out of the box initially but after getting firmware and HMI updates from Oliver and checking connections to the LCD panel it took right off. That is why I asked him for the serial plate info, if its prior to the 2013 models then the firmware and HMI updates now posted on Olivers website might make it work right as it did for me. As for the USB if its bad , its bad. I have purchased a total of 4 to use with my machine and yes one was bad, simply will not work half the time.

The updates for the are still for the 2012 model. FIRMWARE 1004.BIN
1013 HMI 1006.zip It looks like the others were only released via e-mail from tech support. The USB with the machine worked fine. Second I purchased I formatted to FAT 32, I think it came as FAT, worked fine. Bigger USB's may be formatted as EX-FAT or NTFS or FAT. There is a file size limitation for FAT and FAT 32. Most pc's don't format in FAT or FAT 32 anymore, I think XP was the last to offer that. You can still download software, freeware, for those formatting strategies. |

I never format a usb, I also have a dozen or so and some will not work on the machine.

I format everything except memory cards.
First, it lets you know if the entire viable device is in use size wise.
There were a slew of partial sized USB cards from China being sold, say a 64 gig was actually 32.
You probably want to return that right away.
Second, everything is mass produced. There may be poor quality control, so your device may not have been formatted properly.
Third, you get rid of any junk programs you don't want to run.
Fourth, and probably most important, if it can't be formatted it's bad.
Sometimes you need to format memory cards by the device to have it run right. Both my tablet and camera need to format the card or it won't work.
Some drives run better on NTFS or EXFAT depending on the OS.
And there is that file size limitation.
Say you make a movie you want to bring to a family outing, you can't copy it to the drive because it's over the limit.
What kills me is there are still different standards, Apple has it's own file system (another reason to format if you run an Apple product), Linux does but will run most WIN OS, WIN OS has FAT/FAT32/NTFS/EXFAT, and various NAS/RAID formats exist.
No universal standard.

I'm not the only one who has noticed the machine has problems with a few usb drives, steve at general cnc has warned several times about this problem thats why I bring it up.
