I do not have the ringmaster just yet, but plan on purchasing next month. I have an un-used invite to visit the fellow I met at a craft show to see it in action and to get some pointers right off the bat. There are several videos on you tube if you just type in ringmaster on you tube.

Bob I am ordering one this evening, I own a 1983 Total Shop, which is a copy of the Shop Smith Mark V, and they (Ring Master) have a unit that will fit my machine I will keep you posted and post some pictures in dropbox sometime soon, I hope we can share some info on the Ring Master over time.

greg do you dabble in metal work as well as wood? or will you be using this for wood? My brother in law is a machinist and has made me several pieces of tooling for my shop. we have a Harbor Freight 20 miles from us and i buy my brad nails and other supplies from them. I like their prices.

I was a machinist for almost 20 years for a Navy shipyard working main engines, weapons systems and radar. I plan on putting a cnc kit on that machine but I wont be using any ready made kit selling for 2 grand no I will build it myself using a geko drive and I already have a small pile of motors I bought on ebay over the past few years. So far for most of us cutting in one pass is the way to go when using I-picture to create the gee code files, Greg has stated elsewhere on here that there are not problems with multiple pass when he uses other software to create the code. You are almost guaranteed to have a repositioning problem if you do multiple pass in I-Picture. I also would add that I once paused the machine so I could brush off the dust to see how things were doing, Had repositioning problem with the Z which caused a line all the way thru the project. Not so deep it could not be sanded out.
