Is Oliver going to offer a bit set for the intellicarve like General does for the icarver? At least if you can find somewhere we can buy online as they say only ship to General dealers

I just purchased 2 of the 1/50 th " bits from a canadian company, the price delivered to my door works out to be $41.50 / each. Last time I bought any elsewhere it was about $ 53.00 delivered to my door. Now mind you these people are not in a hurry to get your order out as I have experienced, having ordered on the 7th and finally shipped out on the 13th which makes no difference if you plan ahead on when you might need them. They have all the sizes/types for the Icarver.

Bob, can you share the contact info on your vendor? I need to be ordering ahead and I'm down to my last one of each 1/50 & 1/32.

It was Busy Bee Tools in Canada, their pricing is listed in Canadian dollars and gets converted to USD when they charge you, were it not for the high cost Canadian ship rate they would have been even cheaper I think the shipping was about 24.00 Canadian which added roughly 10.50 USD to the individual bit cost.
UPS tracking shows they will be delivered Mon 2/17 , so about 10 days.

Was it the metric versions that you bought (Carver CCb004 0.5mm @ $32.99 for example?). The metric versions are considerably cheaper than the equivalent inch versions.

Rick, I did not see that, but it is silly that they list them that way, because both are the same bit just 1 is a metric measure and the other is inches. Even listed that way in the I-Picture program, but if you get right down to it there are only 3 bits listed in I-Picture, 1/8" endmill also listed as 3.2 mm 1/32" also listed as .8 mm and the 1/50" also listed as .5 mm. I did buy the 1/50" bits however.

I checked toolstoday.com and couldn't find a 1/50 (R05) bit. The pricing on the 1/32 seemed ok, and the coating they have on the bit looks like it might last longer. Pricing the 5 pack saves you about $2.10 each, but the price would still be around $40.80 each.
I've compared the inch version and the metric version on Busy Bee Tools and am wondering if the slight difference in size would make a difference to ipicture. The metric versions (p/n ccb004 for R0.5 and ccb003 for the R0.8) appear to be $10 (Canadian) cheaper than the inch version (ccb002 & ccb001). The only difference I get in the conversion of inch dimensions to metric is that the shaft size of 6 mm is equal to .236 where the inch version is .25. The other dimensions seem right on, and I figure the 1013 can handle the slightly different shaft size. Anyone see a problem with this idea? I'm not a metric guy, so any advice is welcome.

I do not see why the shaft size difference would be a problem, we are talking about 1/3 of a mm. Now as to why the difference in price for metric versus inch that is curious, I should have the ones I ordered by maybe Mon. so I'll see if they appear to be the same as the ones I have been getting. I specifically wanted the 1/50th" bit because that is the one I use the most, and do not think I would get good results with say a 1/64" bit from toolstoday, because of the I-Picture setting, and as a footnote for some reason when visiting toolstoday.com I kept getting a warning message that the site might be harmful to my computer.

Great, I just ordered the metric ones and they came back and said they had a 4 to 6 week backorder. I'm going to cancel and order some standard ones. Did they charge you the metric price? I think my order came to around $84 delivered for one of the 0.5 and one 0.8.
