Curious to know if anyone else is running I-Picture software on Windows 8, as I just Installed it on my new computer and it's slower than molasses, it took about 10 minutes to process a very simple dome design I hate to think how long for something more complicated.

I bought a new thin line instant on from sams but it runs windows 7, wow it's fast no hard drive to slow you down it uses chips for the drive also it boots before you can sit down next to it!
I have heard a few people say win8 was real slow for them so i wasn't too eager to get that version. Greg

Helpful idea I found, is that when using some images that say have background all the way out to the edges, it is best to add a white border around the edges maybe 1/4". This will help with the x axis wandering off. From experience every time I have tried without the white border around the edge, the x axis wanders off on some skewed angle and ruins the piece.

I could not get version 1.2 to run on my win8 system. The error code says I have a missing file.

Did you write down the file name? You may need to install some windows support stuff.

The Logfile 'c:\Program(x86)\iPicture\iPicture.exe.log' could not be opened. Errno13 Permission Denied:c:\Program(x86)\iPicture\iPicture.exe.log
This is the exact error code, I guess the file is not missing, just unreachable. Thanks for the reply Greg.

Try turning off Windows 8 User Account Control. UAC restricts access under the program files directory. However, turning UAC off does increase the vulnerability of the system to malware.

I think you can right click on the install program and select run as admin or at least you can in older versions of windows.

Tried both suggestions, thanks, but to no avail. Same error message. Tried versions 1.2 and 1.1 . Is anyone running this on Windows 8 ?

Version 1.1 is only for the 1015 it wont work with the 1013, the only other thing I can think off is to right click on the program exe file and set the properties to run as an older version of windows. That should be listed under compatibility settings.
