You have to get a copy and place it in the post processor directory. Yeah the ease of use is the thing I like about it too and you can change the bit to a vbit and make 45* cuts for letters.
You can do this in Artcam as well I thought you had a purchased copy of that?

i did purchase Artcam and have been teaching myself how to use it, but I read that you also use cut 2d so I downloaded the trial for curiosity reasons. I found it to be simpler to follow the video instructions, in fact within a few minutes i was ready to save to a post processor, but didn't have the right one. I was very surprised the list of the PP there are out there.

Yeah thats the only thing I have against it too it's so complicated you could actually spend hours trying to get something made with it BUT you can do a whole lot with it too soooo it just depends on what you want. With cut2d I can make something in just a few minutes go out and test cut it come back make adjustments and be done with the piece.
To be fair I did load a drawing the other day into Artcam and that part of it works a lot like cut2d.

with cut2d i test the trial piece called wing, and after loaded PP icarver it started to work, I need more practice, but with your guys help, I am starting to feel more confident about my future with CNC carving I did notice if I work in mm my success rate is much higher, so i do a lot of converting now. I will leave inches to cabinet building

In cut2d I like to use the center for my start location, make sure you setup your bit, if you need a deep cut using cut 2d do it in steps and set it in your bit setup.
I have tracked down the bit setup for the one that comes with icarver the 1/32 one here is the geometry. D:0.25 A:6* F:0.02 and its listed as engraving 20* bit in the bit list.
