Hi All

I thought and am hoping that everyone will find this information summary (tips, tricks and learning suggestions) useful.

ACE (ArtCAM Express) Training Disk
The Training Video DVD for the ArtCAM Express software is quite in depth and extensive.
It's the equivalent of taking a full day of training with us here at Delcam.

More things that will help you better understand the latest version of ArtCAM are;

1- The supplied manual
2- Videos in the software via the LIVE Tab
3- Tutorials in the software via the TUTORIAL Tab

**Have a look at the images and screen shots below to see the tabs, videos and tutorials that are available inside the software and that I am describing above**

Watching the videos on the website, on you tube and that come inside the software will help to get going with things.

I am thinking about buying the software and would like some clarification on a few things in it like:
It looks like I can cut directly on line or all the way through like I can with cut2d, can holding notches be programed into the design?

And I would like to make a test cut from the output even if it is water marked it would let me see that its compatible with this machine.

Using "profile" toolpath inside of ACE will allow you to cut in several different styles:
Outside, Inside or Along

If I understand the question correctly the Along a profile (aka vector) would give you the directly on line cutting application that you are asking about.

RE: all the way through

The toolpath menu and set-up in ACE does allow the user to control the depth of the cut. You can cut to a specific depth or all the way through your material.

RE: can holding notches be programed into the design

Toolpath Tabs (aka Bridges) are available in the base version of ACE. The limitation with the base version is that you are able to apply and use 1 tab per piece being cut out. The tab is placed on the start point (green node) of the vector shape.

If a user would like more than 1 tab and more control of how they are placed, configured and the tab style (2D or 3D tab) than their is a module that would open up more user control for this manufacturing element.
Module is Advanced 2D Machining Module and the cost is $249.

This is possible using and applying toolpaths to the designated sample models that are supplied with the trial software.

Using The Free Trial Software
With these save-disabled free trial versions you can create & post-process toolpaths with included sample ArtCAM models and try all of the key product features in both ArtCAM Express and ArtCAM Insignia. You can also trial the individual ArtCAM Express Modules. Any additional artwork you create in the trial software cannot be saved or used to create toolpaths.
