Just picked up an Intellicarve 1013. Upon going to the Oliver machinery site, I found that there was a v1.004 firmware update available, which I took to be the most recent. I followed the download instructions provided. The machine now displays 'Version Error' on the LCD screen and will not initialize any further. After looking at the serial number plate on the back, it turns out that the machine originally came with v2.001 installed, so the v1.004 was an incompatible download.
Is the v2.001 firmware file available for download somewhere so that I can restore machine operation?
It seems strange that the 1013 does not validate the firmware update files for compatibility.

Unfortunately, the GeneralCNC file is also a v1.004 firmware.
The helpful folks at Oliver are giving me a hand with the problem. It looks like the 1013 machines made in the last while are coming with v2.001 installed. Flashing in the v1.004 bricks the machine. I did get the v2.001 firmware from Oliver to flash back in, but even after completing the reflash, the machine is still left with some problems. It now seems to think it is a different machine other than the 1013. They are working on it though.
I hope they post a warning on their download page soon to prevent others from falling into the same trap.

Just learned there are newer circuit boards, those with the 2x firmware. Previous ones can not be updated to 2x.
