Hi
I'm having trouble with my new 1015 pro. The latest is while doing a socket for an inlay. I set up the project up in Artcam and routed the first inlay flawlessly. The next day I went to run it again, same inlay, same programming, same USB key, and it was a mess! First section was all wrong, the second and third section was okay, and the fourth almost ran off the end of the board. I had problems with runout before with I picture, so I changed the USB key hoping that would help but I guess not!
Any thoughts/suggestions would be most appreciated.
Jim

Thanks Bob. I have not received my unit or manual yet. Been 5 weeks. Any idea how long it might take?

TxDave, My machine did not have a manual with it, I had to go to Olivers site and download it. As far as ship time , I would call them (they are on Pacific time which is 4 hrs diff from me in Indiana) and ask for a time frame, 5 weeks sounds like a long time to me. I have the 1013 model which I ordered from Amazon for same price and with Amazon Prime membership shipping was free, had mine in about 5 days.

No so good news. I talked to Oliver today and they are telling me that the unit will not be available for shipment until the end of July which means I may have it by early August.
The previous delivery estimate was June 30 - July 8th.
I may have to look at other units and weigh options. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Like Bob, I bought the 1013 instead through Amazon, had it on my doorstep in less than 48 hours - free shipping, and back then no state sales tax. The 1013 is a little smaller machine and the 1015 is probably preferable if you're doing fine work or larger pieces and want to spend the money. The 1013 does pretty well for me, and I'm not getting near out of it what Bob, Greg, and some of the other guys on here are.

It is what it is I guess. I will just have to wait and hope the machine is all that I hope it to be when it arrives. Two months is such a long time to wait. lol

I hope I am in the right place. I have a 10154 Pro and can use ipicture with it no problem. I am trying to do some more intricate projects with it but am having trouble saving the projects from Artcam to Gee to have then cut. I am a raw newbie at this stuff and dont want my wife to think I dropped $5G on this thing that is completely a waste of time. My latest project is an artcam model of 4 1/2 inch holes in a piece of stock 3/4 in. the 3D looks great but I am at a loss after that. I cant save it directly as a .GEE so I am at a loss. Where do I go from here. I have the latest software. ArtCam EXPRESS 2015 R2 SP2 and ipicture 1.2. Please help. I am about ready to toss this thing to the curb. The info out there just seems to confuse the issue more.

Can you save it as a .jpg or .png file? Then use that file to go into ipicture. png would be preferable, it has better quality on the edges of your picture. Sorry I can't be more help, I am not familiar with Artcam since I do everything in Photoshop Elements.

This tip was given to me and has seemed to work with both the 1013 and 1015 with x axis runoff. Make sure you have a white border around your entire project. This will help it slow down at the edges of your project and this is with projects running ipicture. With Artcam I am not sure because I never have gotten the newer version of the Artcam software. Hopefully one day I will get that software.

Is this your spindle (bit) motor, can't really tell from the picture. To me the shaft looks bent to one side, which would start my investigation out at sideloading on the bit while the machine is moving through the x axis. Some obvious problems that could cause this could be the material your cutting, the speed in conjunction with the depth at the beginning of the cut - what I'm trying to say is on the very first pass are you immediately going to full depth on the cut? Through that entire x axis cut then the shaft would be experiencing the highest side load of the cut.
What I do on every project is use some blur on the entire picture before carving, this allows for the bit to ease itself into the first cut down to depth rather than plunging down right off the bat and forcing itself through that first x axis pass.
