I've tried to keep up to date with changes in order to keep the bulletin board readers aware of what is happening. In communications with Oliver, they've been exceedingly forthright in letting me know what is going on so that the readers of this bulletin board are aware and not caught by surprise as time goes on. As we're all aware, change is inevitable, and these machines need to evolve to solve past problems and improve their capabilities for the future. Personally, I've found the Oliver people very responsive to customers and have seen them work with the factory in Taiwan to solve the issues that arise with any machine from time to time. I congratulate them on the job well done.
The 1015 PRO has now been replaced with the i2015 machine, it is the new and updated version that eliminates some bugs and improves capabilities. All new machines in the future will be the i2015, and I believe the name will change away from "Intellicarve" also. Be aware that these are updated versions that are coming from the same engineers and factory as the previous machines, so it's the latest and greatest - not just something different.
The distribution of the machines is changing also, the company now responsible for North American sales will be Iconic (http://iconiccnc.com) who operate out of Canada. In the past the 1013 and 1015 were sold by Oliver in the USA and General Machinery in Canada. The General Machinery people responsible for the carvers have extensive experience in the CNC carving world, and have some of the best technical expertise on these particular machines available anywhere. These same experienced people have moved over to Iconic, and are ready to service our needs. Oliver Machinery will become the USA distribution point for new machines, and I believe they already have some of the i2015 machines ready to ship on new orders. Oliver will also continue to warranty previously purchased machines (1013 & 1015), and has an extensive supply of parts to cover our needs for quite some time. I'd recommend making no changes to your current use of Oliver personnel to handle any questions or needs for parts, at least for now. If you have a question that just can't be figured out here on the bulletin board, call Steve at Iconic and let him put his expertise to work on your problem.
There is NO CURRENT CHANGE to anything in regards to the 1013. An updated version is being explored, they are currently determining what problems exist with it and how to make improvements in the machine with a target date for production later in 2017. Again, it will be an updated version of what we've all been using so well up till now. Oliver will continue to assist you in all things 1013 as needed.
Oliver has committed to continuing this bulletin board for us users as long as it sees activity continue, so consider it the place to go as you have up till now and let's keep suggestions coming in on projects and successes - not just problems.....
I have reported here what I've heard from reliable sources, I am not an employee of any company involved and have worked to help make the bulletin board a source for information and help. So if my facts aren't 100%, please don't get out the pitchforks.
