Hopefully someone else is interested in 5 axis carvers. That would look to be the next step in the evolution of CNC machines. Or maybe something like the upcoming 3d lathe attachment only larger. Say 36+ inches. I'm already budgeting for one in a year or two, when prices drop and they become more consumer oriented.

The guys experimenting with 3d gun making rented one of the metal printers. A number of patents expire this year so a boom in 3d printers is expected over the next couple of years. There is also a filament recycling contraption in the works the Filabot. Supposedly it will accept any plastic like old bottles.
