It would be interesting to know how many users are using GIMP to do image work for I-Picture. Please chime in to let me know.

I played with it a little and still need to learn it better. I have primarily been using Fireworks mainly because I am really familiar with it from doing my graphics for web design. It handles vectors really well.

I was just curious, so I would know if enough people were using GIMP before I make a bunch of videos based upon GIMP. From what I have been reading online I believe GIMP closely resembles Photoshop but I could not say without having Photoshop to compare to.

I am not a big Photoshop fan but I do use it in conjunction with Fireworks. I would have to say GIMP does have it similarities to Photoshop. I like your tutorials personally. No matter what software you would use I think your tutorials show how to get to the final product so most anyone would learn from what you are teaching. Plus you never know the more you teach the easier GIMP will be to use for others and you might get some converts out of it.

I'm with Shaf on this Bob, I have GIMP loaded on my machine, but since I had a daughter in college for marketing she taught me (and got for free) Photoshop Elements. I am not near as good with it as you are with GIMP, but I have used both and found that they have a ton in common so anything you teach in one will crossover to the other....terminology may be a little different but close enough to work through.

Personally, if I had to do it over I'd probably concentrate on learning Gimp. Elements is fine, but the learning curve is pretty long and there are things that I see being done in Bob's video that I have to do in Publisher first and then fine tune in Elements. Since GIMP is a free download, you'll get updates and enhancements free also.....not always the case with Photoshop.
