I downloaded Freemill from Visual Mill as it has no limitations of use, Visual Mill is limited to 10 uses on the free trial. I have not had time to even begin to take the dive into all that yet, but will be soon it sure would be nice to get away from the raster based cutting, and maybe the time it takes to do so.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for your input of the forum. You really clear things up. Just to let everyone know, we are a little short staffed at Oliver and it is difficult to keep up with things on the forum. If anyone does not get an answer from us on the forum please call the office at 800-559-5065. We will make it right.

Thats one of the main reasons I use cut2d I can fly through a project and be cutting in just a few minutes. I want my time to be spent on my project and not on making the software do what I want. I also use the other program they sell PhotoVcarve it cuts diagonally and does a good but different kind of job on pictures.

If any Oliver people are monitoring this topic I would like to get a more detailed report about specs of the 1013. There are too many systems using a rack drive for them to claim the rack will wear out too fast if used in the original style of cnc. What I have found is most systems use a 3:1 reduction gear so you wont have a 200 inch per minute feed rate like you get when you place the motor directly on the gear track. There are small 2.73:1 belt drive gear boxes available that can be had for around 100 bucks that would convert the Y track down to a more normal speed but I don't know how the speed is programmed into the controller of the machine and I picture.

1013 is good machine, but it is a go kart, not an indy cart, have fun within it's limits, then when you want more, you will have a better knowledge of what to look for.

Well I knew this machine would not do the same ind of reduces as the big guys when i purchased it but discovered a way around that restrict, with Cut2d i don't create many cuts like that with this machine but I can if I need to.
