I did receive it, but haven't used it yet. I probably need to install it on the machine in the next couple of projects - starting to think my current one is dulling. Do you still like it?

Rick, it went okay but not near as well as last years show. I did get some special orders, the one on my profile pic is 1 of them and they were a repeat customer from last year. In the end I think people just do not have as much $ as last year and that would include me. Prices just continue to rise but the income remains the same. I spent the first 20 years of my working life in the grocery business most of it being in the meat dept, then mgmt. If you would have told me that ground chuck would be 6.00 / lb back then I would have thought that's crazy.

I do things on a much smaller scale than you two, but my "orders" have been going up the past few months - mostly from people (family/friends) who want special christmas gifts and don't want to spend much money. Getting those three portraits of my sister-in-law completed to my satisfaction has taken some time, I think I've cut 10 different versions. I've finally got three cut and stained, tomorrow I hope to sand them down to give me the final look I want then poly them. I ended up going with poplar, it gave me the least amount of grain showing and since I was cutting/gluing pieces I was able to take the grain out of the way for the most part. Wish it wasn't so "white" a wood but I guess you can't get everything. Got an order for a "princess" picture frame, and downloaded this one which came out well in cherry. Attachments:

I have done 4 of these craft shows so far and almost every person has told me they have never seen that kind of woodwork before, funny to watch a lot of men start drifting towards your booth only to see the woman drag him in a another direction namely the jewelry booths.

Bob, I've used my Toolstoday carbide bit now for a couple months, and probably close to 30 different projects including two corian carvings. It appears to me that the oak I'm using is starting to get fuzzy, which typically is my clue to go ahead and change the bit. This seems on the low end of endurance for the bit. Did you see something similar, or am I imagining it? Either way I plan on ordering another of the same bit tonight, the price is right and I'm guessing the corian may dull a bit quicker than doing just wood.

Rick , I have found that 30 carvings pretty much would result in any bits I have used getting dull. Now oak would show fuzz quicker than most hardwoods because of the grain structure. There is basically 2 directions/types of grain in oak, the regular grain and then the parts which show darker when finished, you can actually take a stick or dowel of oak and stick it in a glass of water and blow bubbles. The grain that is darker has hollow channels thru it.

Just ordered a new bit from Toolstoday this morning, it's shipped already and at $44 delivered is quite a bit cheaper than the others.

Got around to taking off the old bit today as I start up my after-the-holidays projects, that bit was incredibly dull on the cutting end. You could actually feel the difference in sharpness with a finger between the cutting area and the top area that never saw wood. I'm thinking that cutting those corian pieces dulled it much quicker than normal, but it does do a great job of cutting corian so I'll just figure that into my next projects.
