Does anyone know how I can set the X Y axis free hand. The software wants to set one or the other automactically. Trying to get familiar with this software but would like to do some freehand work.

I don't think you can, what you can do is play around with the picture itself, stretching it up/down/right/left until you get the desired results in ipicture. Ipicture reads your inputted picture, and sets itself to the correct sizing based on the x or y dimension you input.

I have explored the same thing, however after setting the spindle motor to be running, any attempt to move along any of the axis x,y or z causes the spindle motor to shut off. I do not believe you can run the machine as a "freehand" operation with the I-Picture software, may be possible with some of the other programs available such as vcarve or art cam.
